Feel like a child again as you gaze wide eyed with your mouth a gape in wonder at the sight of hundreds of brightly colored hot air balloons rising slowly upright and then launching into the sky. It is hard to put this feeling into words - you have to experience it! This is why you travel all those miles. It is no longer a dream, but a fabulous experience with wonderful memories that you will always treasure.
Daily Itineraries
Day 1:
5:00 am - Depart from OKC
7:30 - Stop for breakfast at McDonalds/Braums
11:00 Visit the Stations of the Cross in Groom. Tx.
1:00 pm - Lunch at Furr's Fresh Buffet in Amarillo.
6:00 - Arrive at Albuquerque and check into hotel.
7:00 - Dinner at Golden Corral Buffet and then back
to the hotel for an early night. (L,D)
Day 2:
5:30 - Enjoy an early morning continental breakfast.
6:00 - Depart for the AIBF grounds and become a
part of the excitement as the teams inflate their
balloons. Watch the Special Shapes Rodeo.
10:00 - Drive to Sandia Peak Aerial Tram. After a
lunch at Sandiagos Mexican Grill, ride the tram to
the top of Sandia Peak for a panaromic city view.
2:30 - Return to the hotel for an afternoon siesta.
5:30 - Return to the Fiesta grounds for an included
dinner at Gondola Club. Then watch the Special
Shapes Glowdeo, including fireworks! return to
the hotel for a great nights rest. (B,L,D)
Day 3:
5:30 - Early morning continental breakfast.
6:00 - Return to the Fiesta grounds to view the
mass ascension of hundreds of balloons.
10:00 - Tour the Albuquerque Balloon Museum.
11:30 - Fast food lunch and then siesta time at hotel.
3:00 - Travel to there Indian Pueblo Culture Center
Old Town Albuquerque. Enjoy the evening
shopping and dinning at the old town square.
7:00 - All passengers meet at the bus for loading.
Return to the motel for an evening of relaxation
with your new-found friends. Pack your bags for
tomorrow we return home. (B)
Day 4:
7:00 am - Breakfast at the motel.
8:00 - Depart for the journey home. Catch up on
your missed sleep, visit, read a book, or play a
game of cards as you are driven down the road.
Noon - Visit the Kwahadi Museum of the American
Indians at Amarillo. A delicious Mexican themed
lunchen will be followed by a performance of the
Kawhadi Indian Dancers & a visit to the museum
and gift shop.
3:30 - Depart Amarillo for OKC with an expected
arrival time around 8:00 pm and remember that
